Biography

Magnus Gjoen was born in London to Norwegian parents and studied design in London and Milan. He has also worked as a denim designer and graphic designer for Vivienne Westwood, among others.

Inspired by street and pop art, Magnus’ prints examine how to change people’s preconceived notions of objects. Something that is potentially destructive can be made into a beautiful, yet fragile piece of art. It’s this misconception that he wants us to see in a different light, be it through his manipulation of weapons, animals or the human race itself, which is capable of either creating or destroying immense beauty.
